Above Ground Construction

Purchasing Your Above Ground Pool
Choosing the right above ground pool for your family is a big decision, but you don't have to make it on your own. At Sunbeam, we'll be with you every step of the way—explaining all of the options and issues, and helping you decide. You'll have the confidence of working with the #1 pool dealer in the Rochester area, selling the best brands at the lowest prices.

Plus, we stand behind our work with an ironclad guarantee on our installations: if you have a problem, we'll be there to make it right.

Selecting your pool's size and shape
What sort of back yard do you have? Large? Small? Shady or sunny? How much room do you want to dedicate to a pool? We'll do a site inspection and help you tailor a pool solution to your needs. We'll remind you to make a quick call to your Town Building Department to see how far from your lot lines your pool must be to meet code. You'll want to be sure you're ten feet away from any overhead power lines and not on top of any septic tanks or leach lines.

When it comes to shape, you can choose round or oval… and there are many sizes of each.

            Round                                                          Oval
        15 - 6,000                                             12x24 - 7,500
        18 - 7,800                                             16x26 - 12,000
        21 - 11,000                                           15x30 - 12,800
        24 - 13,500                                           16x32 - 15,000
        27 - 17,500                                           18x33 - 17,100
        30 - 22,000

Materials
Some dealers sell steel pools, while some carry only aluminum and resin.  At Sunbeam, we sell all three, so we can give you an unbiased opinion on what's best for you and your budget.

Steel

Steel is an inexpensive material, and is often a lower-priced pool. The downside? Over time, steel rusts. Beware of dealers who try to negate this fact with inflated warrantees of 30 years, 50 years, or a lifetime. Since these warrantees don't cover labor, they're quite misleading. Steel pools are best if you expect to need a pool for a limited period of time—say, until the kids graduate from high school.

Aluminum
Aluminum is costly but the most durable material. Aluminum will not rust. Extruded aluminum is the strongest, most rigid, slip resistant pool frame you can buy. It's the best choice if you want a pool for years and years to come.

Resin
Injection molded resin is a very common frame for an above ground pool. It is durable, corrosion resistant, rigid and can be found on a steel or aluminum wall, which will determine price range.
